eBerea seminar in Renmin University of China

On the 12th of November, Finnish-China collaboration seminar was held in the
Wing Building for Science Complex of Renmin University, Beijing.
Present were professors, staff and student from universities of China and Finland. Matti Hämäläinen and Timo Itälä attended from Aalto University.

Prof. Meiyun Zuo, Associate Dean of School of Information, Renmin University of China presented their work for a social platform to help the elderly.
This website www.rd1860.com will give tools to the elderly and senior citizens to connect online with various ways including microblogging.
Prof. Guoqing Chen, from School of Economic and management in Tsinghua University also participated into the forum actively.
Prof. Timo Itälä gave a presentation on Information systems, business models and master data management topics, outlining the ambitious but very exciting ideas for the future research.
Prof. Kanliang Wang, the Head of Management Science and Engineering Department from School of Business, Renmin University of China was put in charge of the next project proposal from the Chinese side whereas Prof. Matti Hämäläinen was representing the Finnish side on the discussions.
Prof. Yu Chen hosted the meeting and was eager to discuss the next steps for eBerea and this network of friends.
And actually prof. Matti had realised while reading the morning's paper - our research is currently very needed and partly already happening.
The schedule was as ambitious as the future plans, but the forum successfully agreed on the next steps and could thereafter move towards lunch - where the real work is done:)
The Finnish guests were also treated with a special Chinese peanut yogurt drink, which was warm and very delicious.
 Gan Bei!
The banquet was really fantastic, as one can expect from the Chinese cuisine.
Meats, vegetables, rice, soup, fruits, puddings...
You name it! And of course as we were in Beijing, the duck!
Prof. Matti never stops to work for Finland:)
 One happy group of friends.
